The heart of SO52
The old church sits up on the hill on Flexford Road, well away from the estates that make up most of North Baddesley now. The Knights Hospitaller ran their Hampshire headquarters from the site opposite it from 1348 until Henry VIII shut them down, and their crosses are still on the roof ribs and the ironwork of the south door. It is the one piece of the original village left.
