The heart of SE13
The clock tower is where people in Lewisham say they will meet. It went up for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, paid for by public subscription and a bequest left to the parish, and was moved a few yards in 1995 when the road layout changed. Everything else on the High Street has been rebuilt around it.
