The heart of HA9
King Edward VII Park is the big green off Park Lane, opened on 4 July 1914 and named for the king who had just died. The council bought the land precisely because Wembley Park itself was being built over, so this is the open space Wembley was left with. It has tennis courts, a bowling green, playing pitches and a playground, and it is where local people walk while the crowds are down at the stadium.
