The heart of EX4
The Clock Tower stands on the island where Queen Street, New North Road and Hele Road meet, at the top of the hill above St David's. It went up in 1897, paid for by Louisa Miles in memory of her husband William, and his horse trough is still built into the base. Exeter people give directions by it and pass it walking into town from St James, Pennsylvania and Exwick.
